Impact of Spirituality and Superstition on Human Life

When we talk about society; religion/ spirituality, superstition comes with it. This is a very broad topic to talk about, and culture of India is always changing, the possibilities for writing and research are endless. But important to talk about because, in a country like India, people can get easily influenced by the name of religion and superstition. The study of spirituality and superstition has been around for years. We all have heard stories about it. Even though these two are different topics, but they relate along the lines of traditions. We don’t know that these stories are true or not, but we have believed that these stories were told from truth or from the depth of somebody’s imagination. As for spirituality/ religion, religion acts as a second skin to a firm believer. Ultimately, study of this particular topic is important to understand the functioning of the society.

Spirituality and superstition are the terms that are coined together. Spirituality is the belief in an unknown force that gives us the ability to be positive in adverse situations. Much is said about spirituality, but it is often misunderstood. Many people think that spirituality and religion are the same things, which is why they bring their beliefs and prejudices about religion into discussions about spirituality.

Although all religions emphasize spiritualism as part of belief, you can be “spiritual” without being religious or a member of any organized religion. Why do we practice spirituality? Life can be full of ups and downs, good times and bad. Many people see spirituality as a great way to seek comfort and peace in their lives. It can often be practiced in conjunction with things like yoga, which ultimately focuses on relieving stress and releasing emotions. whereas superstition is the belief on some stories told by other and that are harmful for the society.

India is a country with numerous types of religion in fact we can say that we have more types of spiritual practices to perform than any other country. In India, we perform various false activities which could harm the individuality of a person than we easily term it as a spiritual practice. We are killing animals in the name of god. Does God want us to kill the animals which it had made? NO, this is the worst practice we can perform and this spirituality have several bad faces but the biggest is superstition.
